Favorite Friday!!!! Let's talk about Adhesives!

Image
It's Favorite Friday and today, I'm talking about my Favorite Adhesives! I am a paper crafter... and I should add a Left Handed Paper Crafter!  A lot of people don't realize most tools are made for right handed people, which brings me to my favorite tape runner. I love the Bazzil Marathon Tape Runner for adhering paper to paper. What's so special about this tape runner?  I can see where I am laying the tape. Most tape runners are oriented for right handed people and therefore dispense the tape on the right side of the tape runner, which leaves us lefties guessing if we are getting the tape where we want it.  I also love that this tape runner has refillable cartridges that just click right in and seem to last forever.  Lastly, it is just simply a very strong, permanent adhesive. My favorite liquid glue for gluing paper to paper is the basic Scotch Quick Dry Tacky Glue . It's easy to apply, dries quickly, it gets the job done and I can pick up a bottl

Weed it Wednesday - Scrapbook Layout

Image
It's Lorrie here, and I'm back for another Weed It Wednesday. Today, I'm sharing a scrapbook layout I made.  Weeding isn't just about vinyl.  Sometimes, you weed backgrounds cut out of cardstock. I love to use a background lattice type of cardstock for the base of my scrapbook pages.  Using the Cricut Explore and/or Cricut Maker makes weeding a cinch.  It cuts cardstock like Butter! and... btw... who says you can't use all of those pretty pink Heidi Swapp "Favorite Things" leftovers on a boy layout?  This was one of my all time favorite collections and I still can't bring myself to get rid of the bits and pieces I have left. so.... what are you weeding today?

It's Make It Monday! Today we are making Baby Burp Cloths

Image
Hey everyone, Lorrie here, and today I have the easiest beginner sewing project, ever!  I needed to make a baby gift and it needed to be quick and easy! Enter... baby burp cloths!  I literally whipped these up in about 20 minutes for all three. Every new mom knows, you can never have enough of these.  They are the perfect size to tuck into even the smallest of diaper bags. and I think they are oh, so cute to make in pairs of 3, tied with a bow!  Do you want to find out more?  Check out my blog post for a full tutorial by clicking HERE.

Fabric Storage, Oh my!

Image
Happy Thursday!  Lorrie here, and I am pondering how to store my ever growing stash of fabric.  I have been a papercrafter for years and set up my room as a papercrafter.  I started sewing just a few months ago and now I am struggling with what to do with all of the fabric, interfacing, trimmings, etc. that have already started to gather.  I turned to Pinterest for a few ideas.  I love this set up by All People Quilt .  The fabric is covered so that it doesn't collect dust and it is protected from getting sun bleached. or this idea from " Indulging My Creative Side" blog.  How gorgeous is this!  I would love to be able to see all of my fabric and have it organized like this beautiful set up. I could look at fabric storage ideas all day.  It makes me happy to see all that yumminess just waiting to be used to create something beautiful.  The problem I am having is my room is full of papercrafting supplies, which I am not ready to part with, I still papercraf

Pumpkin Dump Cake - You gotta try this!

It's Tuesday and that means another recipe on the blog.  Today, I'm sharing one of my favorites desserts..... (Enter pumpkin dump cake). You have got to try this amazing recipe. It is ooey, it is gooey and it is ooooh so lovely. I'm not a huge fan of pumpkin pie. I mean I don't hate it, but I'd much rather have something a bit sweeter if I'm going to eat pie. Well this recipe is just that. It's pumpkin pie all sweetened up. Just look at it!!

Thrive in your Hive Thursday - Finding your Mojo

Image
Hello and welcome back. As I was preparing for " Thrive in your hive " today, I scanned various organizational ideas, I looked for some fun organizational idea in my craftroom to share with you... and nothing was inspiring me.  This led me to redirect this post. Thriving in your hive sometimes means kickstarting your mojo.  When I want to craft, but just don't know what I want to create, I find browsing Pinterest, looking through a magazine or even just sifting through my supplies will usually spark an idea. I have been inspired by the Target flyer in Sunday's paper.  Take a look at this photo.  Immediately, I think about making a card with some sort of green background and a pop of orange, or perhaps a green fabric tote bag with a cute poppy red iron on design. Or this image.  Wouldn't it be cute to make a card with 3 lemon slices going up the side or across the bottom (I know, these are blood oranges). This photo reminds me of that new
